Cathy’s specializations include corporate governance, intellectual property, environment ,data protection and consultancies. For the last 3 years Cathy has been involved in corporate governance consultancies for global entities seeking to set up in Kenya. She has also led several corporate governance briefs and trainings in the agricultural sector particularly the tea sector. More recently she has developed a niche in consulting for family owned businesses in family and business governance. Such is her passion for family owned businesses that she and a group of experts publish the Family & Business Magazine for family owned businesses. What’s more, she is undertaking a long distance doctorate research with the University of Gloucestershire on family owned businesses. Her desire and passion is to see Kenyan family owned businesses thrive for generations. She has helped a number of them set up family governance structures that are crucial for posterity.
Cathy is developing a niche in the beauty sector having previously worked in the beauty sector as a consultant for various global beauty manufacturer who sought to register their business in Kenya. Other than incorporation, she consulted in brand protection through trademarks, enforcement of intellectual property rights against counterfeits and helped one client negotiate a settlement agreement in an infringement suit.
